Dear Valued Visitors,
On behalf of myself and the administrative staff of the Center for Sustainable Development and Women’s Empowerment at Al al-Bayt University, I am delighted to welcome you to our website.
The concept of sustainable development represents one of the most prominent scientific and practical pillars of our modern era. It aims to achieve a balanced approach between meeting current development needs and protecting natural and environmental resources, thereby ensuring the rights of future generations.
In line with this approach, the University has been committed to integrating sustainability concepts into its academic, research, and administrative mission, positioning the Center as a leading platform for raising community awareness, developing skills, and promoting applied scientific research.
The Center also seeks to establish strategic partnerships at both the local and international levels to provide innovative and sustainable solutions to contemporary challenges, particularly climate change and resource scarcity, while supporting the transition toward a green economy.
In this context, the Center places particular emphasis on women’s empowerment, recognizing women as a fundamental component of comprehensive development. This is achieved by supporting women’s participation in political, economic, and social fields.
To this end, the Center conducts quantitative and qualitative field studies and provides training and guidance programs aimed at developing women’s leadership and entrepreneurial capabilities. These efforts are based on a participatory approach grounded in rigorous research to foster an enabling environment that encourages women’s active role in society.
Once again, welcome to our website. We look forward to your communication and partnership with us.
Al al-Bayt University works to integrate the concept of sustainable development into all aspects of its academic and administrative missions. For this purpose, the Sustainable Development Center was established to serve as a leading institution in promoting awareness, training, and research in this important field. The Center aims to advance sustainable development through collaboration with relevant stakeholders within the university as well as in the local and global community. It also seeks to raise awareness of the importance of sustainable development and promote environmentally friendly practices and a sustainable economy through research, training, and cooperation with companies and related organizations. We are committed to developing innovative and sustainable solutions to current global challenges, such as climate change and resource scarcity, while raising awareness among students and the wider community about the importance of sustainability and their role in safeguarding our shared future.
In addition, the Center is concerned with empowering women in political, economic, and social issues at both the local and international levels. The Center serves as a starting point for building local and international partnerships with various institutions and organizations that support women’s roles across different fields. Its role includes conducting both qualitative and quantitative studies on women’s issues and publishing data, information, and bulletins across various domains. The Center also aims to strengthen women’s capacities through training and guidance in developmental and entrepreneurial roles, enabling them to achieve self-realization, assume responsibility for their decisions, and develop their talents.
The Center further seeks to enhance the status of women at both the local and regional levels, integrate them into the comprehensive development process, and promote a positive societal culture along with a supportive national and international environment for their role. It adopts a participatory approach with all stakeholders concerned with women’s affairs at the local and international levels, following a scientific methodology based on the results of research and academic studies. This approach aims to empower women and prepare them to assume their rightful place and exercise their natural rights across various sectors of society.
