I have had the honor of serving as director of the Omani Research and Studies Center since 1/10/2025
God willing, during my tenure as director of the Center, I will work to strengthen the partnership between Al-Bayt University, the Omani Fatwa Office, and the Omani Embassy in Jordan; to achieve the Center’s objectives of exchanging academic expertise, holding conferences and seminars, organizing exhibitions, and hosting Omani cultural days, and disseminating Omani culture and civilization, through encouraging scientific research and offering research grants, awards, and academic incentives for master’s theses and doctoral dissertations written on Omani civilization, history, and literature, as well as involving our brothers in Oman in national events and celebrating Omani National Day.
We are committed to ensuring the Center’s continued operation at the university by providing all necessary support to facilitate its activities, including the organization of seminars, lectures, and conferences. We extend our sincere gratitude to the university administration, represented by the esteemed University President, Prof. Dr. Osama Nasir, who has spared no effort in providing both material and moral support; to ensure the center’s success in a manner befitting the strong and enduring relations between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman. I also commend the role of the Omani Fatwa Office in maintaining constant and constructive communication with the center to ensure the success of its mission, objectives, and tasks, and to achieve its set goals in a manner that serves the interests of the two brotherly countries. And Allah is the source of success.
Director of the Center, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Suleiman Bani Khalid
The Omani Studies and Research Center was established at Al-Bayt University at the beginning of the 1998–1999 academic year as a result of the distinguished political relations between the two brotherly countries, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman, a relationship whose roots extend back to the beginning of the glorious Renaissance era in the Sultanate of Oman, and whose bonds have been strengthened and its fabric made more robust during the reign of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein and his brother His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, may God protect them.
.
The objectives and mission of the Omani Research and Studies Center are in harmony with the objectives of Al-Bayt University and the universality of its tolerant Islamic mission, which believes in dialogue and openness toward Arab and Islamic cultures, nations, and peoples, It provides the scientific framework for bringing together followers of Islamic schools of thought and works to promote dialogue with people of other religions and civilizations.
