The Department of Allied Medical Sciences at the Faculty of Technical Education, Al al-Bayt University, was established in 2025 to prepare and qualify skilled technical and professional personnel in healthcare and technology-related fields. The department offers specialized academic programs at the intermediate diploma level, combining theoretical education with practical and applied training to meet labor market needs and the requirements of various professions.
At its establishment, the department began with two programs: Radiologic Technology and Associate Nursing. It subsequently expanded to include six academic specializations: Radiologic Technology, Associate Nursing, Healthcare, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and E-Learning Technology. All six programs award an intermediate diploma after two years of study.
The department's academic programs focus on providing students with the scientific knowledge and professional skills required in their respective fields. They also emphasize practical and applied learning, including training on the equipment and devices used in different professional settings. In addition, students undertake clinical and field training in hospitals, enabling them to gain practical experience and become familiar with the requirements of professional practice.
The department is committed to strengthening cooperation with hospitals, healthcare centers, and relevant institutions through cooperation agreements. These partnerships support practical training opportunities and help align educational outcomes with labor market requirements. Graduates of the intermediate diploma programs may also have opportunities to pursue further academic studies in accordance with the applicable regulations and admission requirements.
The department seeks to continuously develop its academic programs and teaching and training methods in line with scientific and technological advancements. Its aim is to graduate qualified professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to enter the workforce and contribute to the development of healthcare and technology services.
A Head of Department has not been appointed yet, and there are currently no faculty members, as the department is newly established.
