La spécialisation en langue française a accompagné la création du Département des Langues Modernes à la Faculté des Lettres et des Sciences Humaines en 1999 à côté d'un certain nombre d'autres langues européennes, dans le but de fournir la société jordanienne des apprenants et des spécialistes de la culture et littérature de cette langue mondiale.
En réponse au marché du travail interne et mondial, la double spécialisation (français-anglais) a été mise en place en 2015, permettant à nos étudiants d'obtenir un diplôme de double spécialité. La spécialisation de langue française a évolué pour devenir (Département de langue française) avec la création de La Faculté des Langues Etrangères en 2022.
Le département comprend cinq enseignants spécialisés en sciences du langage et en littérature, dont trois sont Full Professor et deux Associate Professor.
Le département compte actuellement huit enseignants spécialisés en sciences du langage et en littérature française — dont trois professeurs titulaires, trois professeurs associés et deux chargées de cours — ainsi que quatre spécialistes de la langue et de la littérature anglaises
Welcome to the Department of French Language,
The Department of French Language has always been and remains one of the most dynamic and committed departments at Al al-Bayt University. The department dedicates its efforts to establishing a comprehensive relationship between teaching and research, extending beyond to matters that concern the university environment and the local community. The programs offered by the department revolve around their global significance, manifested in their ability to adapt and align with the variables of their cognitive and academic fields, reflecting the developments and progress in French language studies itself as well as advancing the mission of Al al-Bayt University.
Literature, linguistics, and translation are taught in the curriculum in both French and English languages. Our distinguished teaching staff diligently works on developing and improving our students' communication skills. The department ensures that students in the bachelor's program enhance their motivation and hone their critical thinking abilities when studying literary and linguistic works to understand how these works influenced and were influenced by their cultural and civilizational contexts. Furthermore, students are empowered to develop various skills that help them succeed in their careers after graduation.
Specifically, students in our department learn how to analyze complex and profound texts, and they are trained to express their understanding of those texts with confidence and competence. They also write detailed essays in a persuasive and effective argumentative style, enhancing their ability to reach conclusions and insights regarding the works they have studied with evidence, proof, and sound logic.
