The Department of Engineering and Smart Systems is one of the main academic departments within the Faculty of Technical Education. It brings together engineering, technology, and innovation to prepare technically skilled graduates who can respond to the rapidly evolving technological landscape and the changing needs of the labor market. The Department focuses on applying modern technologies across diverse fields and connecting scientific knowledge with practical applications, enabling students to design systems, operate technologies, solve problems, and develop smart solutions.
The Department emphasizes applied education, practical training, and technology-based projects, providing students with hands-on experience and practical skills relevant to engineering and technology fields. Through its diverse programs, the Department seeks to strengthen the connection between education and labor-market needs, and between ideas and practical applications.
Programs Offered by the Department:
• Smart Buildings Engineering
• Road Surveying and Quantity Estimation
• Energy Technology
• Internet of Things (IoT)
• E-Learning Technology
• Jewelry and Ornaments Manufacturing
• Educational Game Design and Development
• Three-Dimensional Printing
• Smart Agriculture Technology

Welcome to the Department of Engineering and Smart Systems, where engineering and technology come together to understand problems, explore solutions, and turn ideas into practical applications. We believe that what remains with students after years of study is not simply the information they have memorized, but what they have understood, experienced, and learned to do independently. We therefore emphasize learning through practice and experience, transforming knowledge into skills and projects into meaningful learning experiences, where even an unsuccessful attempt becomes an opportunity to learn and try again. The Department offers a diverse range of disciplines and applied fields, providing students with opportunities to learn, experiment, and practice. We strive to make learning closely connected to real-life situations, giving students the opportunity to test their ideas, apply what they have learned, and learn from experience. We also believe that a successful engineer or technician is not someone who always has the answer, but someone who knows how to ask the right question, search for a solution, and turn that solution into reality. For this reason, we encourage critical thinking, teamwork, applied projects, innovation, and continuous learning. As Albert Einstein put it, “Learning is experience; everything else is just information.” We seek to make this idea part of the students’ experience: to experience what they learn, test it, build upon it, and leave the Department able to create something of real value. Our ambition is for every graduate to leave the Department with more than a degree: with knowledge that can be applied, skills that can grow, and a mind that never stops learning. Welcome to the Department of Engineering and Smart Systems; where knowledge begins with an idea and finds its true value when it creates an impact.
