The department focuses on strengthening national identity and civilizational belonging, promoting the principles of moderation and balance, and respecting intellectual and cultural diversity, in line with Al al-Bayt University’s mission, which is derived from its scientific and intellectual vision. It also seeks to equip students with critical and analytical thinking skills, and to develop their abilities in dialogue, effective communication, and systematic scientific research.
The department is keen to continuously update its study plans and course content in order to keep pace with scientific, and knowledge developments and to meet labor market requirements and societal needs. It also includes qualified academic staff with diverse scholarly and teaching expertise, contributing to the advancement of university education and the enhancement of the quality of its outcomes. This, in turn, helps prepare graduates who possess not only intellectual and human awareness but also the ability to interact positively with issues at the local, regional, and international levels. The department comprises faculty members holding various academic ranks including two professors, a full-time lecturer, and eight instructors. Additionally, faculty members from other university colleges participate in teaching these humanities requirements.
We believe that university requirements constitute the solid foundation from which students proceed toward their specializations. Accordingly, the department’s courses aim to develop critical thinking and scientific analysis skills, promote a culture of dialogue and acceptance of others’ opinions, and build awareness of contemporary societal issues. The department also seeks to link theoretical knowledge with practical application, enabling students to employ what they learn in their academic and professional lives.
The department includes a distinguished group of experienced and highly qualified faculty members who are keen to employ modern and interactive teaching methods that motivate students toward self-learning, creativity, and scientific research. We also work continuously to develop study plans and course content in line with quality assurance and academic accreditation standards, as well as the demands of the modern era and the labor market.
In conclusion, the Department of Facultative Humanitarian Requirements affirms its commitment to serving its students, cooperating with all university colleges, and actively contributing to serving the local community—out of firm belief in the university’s role in achieving comprehensive development and in building individuals capable of making positive contributions to the advancement of their nation and community.
