The Renewable Energy Engineering Department at Al al-Bayt University focuses on education, research, and community engagement in sustainable energy technologies. It aims to prepare engineers capable of designing, implementing, and managing renewable energy systems suitable for regional and global needs.
As Head of the Department, I am pleased to introduce our academic and research mission: to educate capable, ethical engineers and to advance applied research in sustainable energy technologies. Our programs combine rigorous theoretical instruction with practical laboratory and field experience in solar, wind, biomass, energy storage, power electronics, smart grids, and hybrid systems, preparing graduates to design, implement, and manage renewable energy solutions at community and utility scales.
Our faculty and students engage in innovative research spanning photovoltaic performance and solar-thermal systems, wind energy optimization, advanced energy storage, hybrid off-grid solutions, and grid integration. We maintain well-equipped laboratories and strong partnerships with industry, utilities, and government agencies to support applied projects, internships, and technology transfer.
Community engagement and capacity building are central to our work. We pursue projects that improve energy access, increase resilience, and promote energy efficiency across the region, while training the next generation of engineers to lead in a low-carbon transition.
Looking forward, we will expand interdisciplinary research in areas such as hydrogen systems and advanced batteries, strengthen industry collaboration to accelerate real-world impact, and continue to support students through mentorship and experiential learning.
