Department Head's Word

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers, and upon his family, his companions, and those who follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment.

Allah Almighty says: “Say, ‘This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me. And exalted is Allah, and I am not of those who associate others with Him.’” (Surah Yusuf, 12:108).

Imam Muhammad ibn Sirin, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: “This knowledge is religion, so consider carefully from whom you take your religion.”

Based on Al al-Bayt University's academic mission and its commitment to establishing a moderate and balanced approach, the Department of Usul al-Din was established to fulfill well-founded academic and scholarly objectives. The department seeks to prepare students who are academically and intellectually qualified and who possess a sound Islamic and scholarly foundation through the study of authentic Islamic sciences, particularly Islamic creed, the sciences of the Holy Qur'an and its exegesis, and the sciences of Hadith, according to approved academic curricula that combine tradition and modernity.

The department works to strengthen the values of Islamic thought and its established methodologies and to promote awareness, understanding, balance, and sound reasoning among students by providing a stimulating academic environment and modern study plans that keep pace with contemporary academic developments and meet the requirements of the Usul al-Din specialization.

This enables students to follow the scholarly methodology of recognized scholars and imams in thought and conduct and prepares them to serve their communities through preaching, public speaking, religious guidance, counseling, and educational direction, using sound, scholarly, and responsible approaches.
