About the Program
The Applied Earth and Environmental Sciences major is an academic program under the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Al al-Bayt University, and the department was established in 2005. Due to the importance of the subjects studied by students in this major and their direct impact on humans and the environment, this program stands out for its practical and applied focus. Since its inception, it has aimed to train and qualify students to understand various geological and environmental aspects, with particular attention to the geology and environment of Jordan, through field applications and laboratory work. Therefore, the Bachelor's program in Applied Earth and Environmental Sciences is considered an important applied program at Al al-Bayt University, focusing on the following core subjects:
- Minerals, rocks, industrial rocks, and geochemistry
- Structural and engineering geology and field applications
- Geophysics
- Water sciences
- Environmental sciences
- Historical geology, stratigraphy, and paleontology
Vision & Mission
Vision
The program should be a leader in its various fields and keep up with all new developments, with a focus on the practical aspect.
Mission
Graduating specialists in various fields of Earth and environmental sciences who are able to compete directly in the job market
Program Objectives
- Properly preparing the student to enter the workforce after graduation without any difficulties.
- Training the student in practical aspects through field training and intensive scientific trips.
- Training the student to conduct some scientific research, reports, and geological maps based on laboratory and field data.
- Guiding the student in choosing many of their seminars and research projects to serve the local community.
