Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering

بكالوريوس

About the Program
The college was established in 2010 and has graduated numerous cohorts with bachelor's degrees in civil engineering, architecture, surveying, and renewable energy engineering. A master's program in architecture has also been launched, and work is underway to establish a master's program in renewable energy engineering. Over this extended period, the college and the planned program have amassed a sufficient number of faculty members, including professors and associate professors specializing in the program's field. Furthermore, the university intends to appoint faculty members with doctoral and master's degrees in industrial engineering and to send some of the top students to pursue doctoral degrees at leading international institutions. In addition, the college possesses advanced research facilities, including laboratories and computer labs, to ensure the program's success in teaching, supervision, and research. The college also boasts sufficient administrative expertise and effective leadership skills to manage the program. It currently has six full-time professors specializing in engineering, with numerous published research papers in the field. The industrial engineering specialization focuses on the design, operation, and analysis of integrated production systems (manufacturing and service systems) that comprise human resources, materials, information, equipment, and energy. This specialization is a specialization that combines different types of engineering, as it links engineering sciences, technologies, social sciences, operations management, industrial engineering sciences, and tools to graduate engineers capable of solving complex systems, which ensures the high performance, productivity, and flexibility of these systems, in addition to manufacturing products or securing services of improved quality and controlled costs.
Vision & Mission
Vision
The Department of Industrial Engineering is distinguished locally, regionally and globally as a leading department in education, scientific research and community service in the field of industrial engineering and its requirements and meeting market needs with the required competencies.
Mission
The Department of Industrial Engineering seeks to meet the needs of Jordanian society and the region by providing high-quality industrial engineering programs in education, scientific research, and community service. This is achieved by preparing world-class engineering cadres capable of competing in solving societal and industrial problems and conducting developmental research that leads to new solutions that contribute to solving the energy problem in Jordan, reducing the imported energy bill (such as gas and oil) in the industrial sector. This will contribute to improving the standard of living, reducing energy costs in the industrial sector, and contributing to driving economic development and sustainable development.
Program Objectives
  1. Utilizing international and local standards and their application across various industrial sectors.
  2. Employing natural sciences, mathematics, operations research, and systems analysis and development to provide practical solutions to diverse industrial problems.
  3. Participating in project evaluations through field visits to various Jordanian industrial companies, particularly those in the oil and gas, cement, engineering, and manufacturing sectors, among others.
  4. Training students in developing applications and utilizing readily available software packages in the field of computer applications for industrial engineering and operations management.
  5. Providing students with practical experience through the simulation and modeling of industrial engineering systems.
  6. Developing students' skills in teamwork, strategic planning, performance evaluation, productivity analysis, and reliability studies for production systems.
  7. Helping students understand the professional and ethical standards associated with industrial engineering practice.
  8. Equipping students with the drive and skills necessary for continuous professional development through lifelong learning, contributing to scientific research and development, and enriching scientific and human knowledge in industrial engineering.
  9. To achieve the highest standards of education in industrial engineering by graduating highly qualified and competent industrial engineers who contribute to the well-being of society by providing innovative systems, products and services.
Learning Outcomes
  1. Upon completion of the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering program, students will possess the following:
  2. The ability to apply knowledge in mathematics, science, and engineering.
  3. The ability to design and conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data, and design systems, components, or processes to meet specific needs.
  4. The ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  5. The ability to utilize modern engineering techniques, skills, and tools necessary for practicing engineering and identifying, formulating, and solving engineering problems.
  6. An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
  7. The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions within a global, economic, environmental, and social context.
  8. Knowledge of contemporary issues and an awareness of the need for lifelong learning.
