I would like to welcome you in the official page of Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II College of Information Technology. Since its establishment in 2001, the school of Information Technology has contributed to the enhancement of its students skills in numerous disciplines and participated through its exceptional students in several programming competitions both locally and internationally. Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II College of Information Technology offers both Bachelor and Masters Degrees, and its alumni have been successful in different fields as many of them pursued graduate studies and graduated from a number of reputed universities and work for some of the largest corporations in the world. The department of computer science was established in the academic year of 1994/1995 as part of the Science and Arts College. Then in 2001 Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II College of Information Technology was established with two departments, computer science and information systems. Nowadays, the college of Information Technology grants undergraduate degrees in the fields of computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, and information and system security. It also grants Master’s degree in the fields of computer science and Information and communication technology for education. Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II College of Information Technologyexcels in conducting numerous activities and workshops for its students through effective collaboration between faculty members and private sector organizations. The purpose of these activities is mainly to foster and boost students’ personal and mental skills. Al al-Bayt University sponsored a number of the College’s exceptional graduates who earned their PhDs from some of the outstanding universities in the USA, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

About the College

The need to keep pace with the digital age led to the establishment of a college at the public university in 2001/2002. This college actively aligns with the national vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, may God protect him, and aims to enhance Jordan's position as a leading and specialized center in the field of information technology. It is part of the Digital Learning Initiative for Economic and Technological Development in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The college's academic foundation dates back to the 1994/1995 academic year, when the Department of Computer Science was established within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Al al-Bayt University, becoming the first center for computer science specializations at the university. However, the continued importance of modern information and its wide-ranging applications prompted the founder of the Sayyid Al-Hussein bin Abdullah College of Information Technology in the 2001/2002 academic year. Since then, the college has been committed to developing academic programs, conducting scientific research, serving the community, and meeting the need to provide the labor market with specialized expertise.

The college comprises five academic departments: Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, and Cybersecurity. It offers seven applied academic programs, including Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Learning, Business Information Technology, Smart Device Development, and Health Information Systems, in addition to a Master's program in Computer Science.

The college comprehensively addresses the essential needs of the local and regional job market for specialized expertise in the information technology and computing sectors. It prepares graduates with the scientific knowledge, technical skills, and analytical abilities necessary for computer science, network management, and handling a wide range of applications. The college is committed to keeping pace with the rapid transformations in artificial intelligence, data science, cyber prediction, e-commerce, and digital government, ensuring its graduates are competitive and contribute effectively to development.

As part of the university's efforts to advance artificial intelligence and the scientific and technological internet, the college received support from Singapore for each new project, including assistance and equipment, at an independent cost of 1,826,000.

The entire college boasts a state-of-the-art technological infrastructure, including 18 computer labs, in addition to specialized labs for networks, modern parallel computing, and digital electronic circuits, all utilizing advanced educational technologies. It has a student body of over 2,000 Sharia students and employs 49 faculty members, 16 lab supervisors, and 7 administrative staff.

The college strives to develop its academic programs for applied scientific research by focusing on Project-Based Learning (PBL) and connecting theoretical knowledge with practical application. It is committed to attracting and developing academic talent across various disciplines and maintaining high standards of quality, thereby enhancing its academic standing and its role in serving the community.
