Scientific Scholarships Section
The Scientific Scholarships Section is responsible for administering and overseeing the affairs of the University’s sponsored scholars and scholarship recipients, as well as supervising the various administrative and academic procedures associated with scientific scholarships, in accordance with applicable legislation, regulations, policies, instructions, and official decisions. The Section ensures the effective and systematic administration of the scholarship process, beginning with identifying the University’s need for scholarships and announcing scholarship opportunities, followed by the issuance of scholarship decisions and the scholar’s enrollment at the host institution, through the various stages of study, scholarship extensions and renewals, and ultimately the completion of the scholarship and the scholar’s return to the University.
The Section is responsible for implementing and following up on decisions issued by the Council of Deans and other competent authorities concerning sponsored scholars, including decisions related to scholarships, renewals, extensions, and deferment of service obligations. It also ensures the completion of all relevant administrative and official requirements and follows up on the academic and administrative status of scholars in coordination with the relevant colleges and authorities.
The Section also oversees procedures related to the completion of scholarships, scholars’ return to the University, and resumption of their duties, including the settlement and discharge of service obligations arising from the scholarship in accordance with applicable regulations and instructions. It further verifies that all required conditions and supporting documents have been fulfilled and that scholarship files are formally and properly closed upon completion of all relevant procedures.
In addition, the Section is responsible for maintaining, documenting, and regularly updating the files and records of sponsored scholars, as well as preparing relevant data, reports, and statistical information on scientific scholarships. These functions provide accurate and reliable information to support planning and informed decision-making, while enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of scholarship administration across the University.
